PRC Landscapes are a trained installer of Voltex waterproofing in Wiltshire and surrounding counties. Voltex waterproofing is a self-bonding, composite needle-punched sodium bentonite / geotextile waterproofing membrane.
Voltex water proofing is a highly effective waterproofing composite of high strength geotextile and 4.88kg of sodium bentonite per square meter. A patented needle-punch process interlocks the geotextiles, forming an extremely strong composite that maintains the uniform coverage of bentonite, as well as protecting it from inclement weather and construction related damage.
How Voltex waterproofing works
Voltex works by forming a low permeability membrance when it comes in contact with water. When voltex waterproofing is wetted, unconfined bentonite can swell up to 15x its dry volume. When it is confined and under pressure the swell is controlled, forming a dense, impervious waterproofing membrane.
The swelling action of Voltex waterproofing can self-seal small concrete cracks caused by ground settlement, concrete shrinkage, or seismic action; problems over which there is normally no control.
Coltex forms a strong mechanical bond to concrete when the geotextile fibres are encapuslated into the surface of poured concrete.
Voltex Waterproofing applications
Voltex waterproofing is designed for below-ground vertical & horizontal structural foundation surfaces. Tyles applications of Voltex waterproofing include
- Backfilled concrete walls
- Earth covered roofs
- Structural Slabs
- Property Line Construction
